Brings the techniques of the Olympic level paddler to the recreational kayaker. Teaches in five easy steps the most used and least taught stroke in kayaking. Also includes the wing paddle and stretching.
"The video is nicely done, and quite informative. Brent does a good job of breaking down the forward stroke into basic (but critical) elements. His illustrations of the recommended techniques are clear and seem to be authoritative. Since I had previously learned some of the fundamentals, it wasn't all new to me, but the reinforcement was helpful. His "chicken wing" positioning of the elbow was most interesting, as I had always wondered about the tradeoffs of hand and elbow positioning. Besides being clear, he does an excellent job of explaining why he is recommending a particular approach. I can't comment on his preference for wing paddles, but the techniques recommended are independent of paddle type. A bonus is a section on preparatory exercises, which is also very beneficial."
