Description
Joshua Wheeler has sailed small boats for over 15 years and 25,000 nautical miles. Credits include a voyage from Newfoundland to Port Townsend, WA, via the Northwest Passage, and an Inside Passage route to Kodiak, Alaska. Single-handed voyages aboard Sampaguita, a Pacific Seacraft Flicka 20, culminated with two circumnavigations of Vancouver Island and a Pacific voyage to the Marquesas and back.
Your boat is unique. As such, it offers a platform for creative and clever problem-solving. The Resourceful Sailor aims to stimulate and inspire you in the process. Success comes in many guises: it can be rewarding, educational, easy on the wallet, and most importantly, keep you on the water.
Inspired by a desire and need to keep boating affordable and sustainable, Joshua realized his do-it-yourself, creative, and outside-the-box thinking might be helpful and inspirational to others. Publishers and readers agreed.
The Resourceful Sailor offers real-life accounts of boat repairs, modifications, and techniques. This book is a compilation of essays that have previously appeared in hard copy and digital maritime publications. Each essay is written for thoughtful sailors who aren't afraid to be self/reliant, try something new, or ask "What if?"
"Remember, keep your solutions safe and prudent, and have a blast!" -
