Perched high atop a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the northernmost campus of the California State University system is celebrating its centennial. . The natural environment of forests and oceans provide the perfect setting for hands-on research in forestry, oceanography, wildlife, natural resources, environmental science and resource engineering, and fisheries biology. Begun as a normal school for teacher education, it still provides a full range of credential programs and more than 40 majors for undergraduate and master's degrees in 14 areas, and it is a regional center for the arts.
